Gill Winner talked about her origin in England and Wales, schooling, earning a PhD in Zoology, moving to New England, teaching at a women's college in Massachusetts, meeting her husband, Joh "Jack" Winner, their mutual outside interest in antiques, their move to Canada, raising two children, sabbatical in England, return to Windsor , Canada, and then moving to Vermont where they bought the inn, West River Lodge from Betty and Bradley Cohn in 1983 and were its innkeepers until 1999 when they sold and moved to Newfane, concentrating on the antique shop they owned on Route 30 and Jill taught nursing school classes. Much of the interview revolves around traditions and personalities at West River Lodge.
